    There is black organic growth on the interior upper panel of the ice machine. [CA] Ensure to maintain the ice machine clean and sanitized.

    1. There is a gap under the receiving door that is larger than 1/4" inch. [CA] Eliminate gap greater than 1/4" to prevent the entrance and harborage of vermin. 2. The back warehouse area has an accumulation of items not needed for the operation of the facility. [CA] The premises of a food facility shall be free of litter and items that are unnecessary to the operation or maintenance of the facility, such as equipment that is nonfunctional or no longer used.

FOLLOW-UP INSPECTION

This is a second follow up inspection for the routine inspection conducted on 9/16/2024 ans shall be charged at the approved hourly rate. Observations: K23:One dead cockroach was found under the hot hold table in the deli area. No other sign or evidence of vermin observed in the facility. Provide service record of next pest control service to District Specialist (Alexander.Alfaro@deh.sccgov.org). The facility is okay to open.

FOLLOW-UP INSPECTION

This is a follow up inspection for the routine inspection conducted on 9/16/2024. Observations: K23: Multiple cockroaches in different life stages were observed in different areas of the deli. There is still an active infestation. PIC was not able to provide an invoice or service report of the pest control service provided to the facility. The facility shall remain closed. A follow up inspection hall be conducted to determine compliance. Any and all subsequent follow up inspections shall be charged at the approved hourly rate of $298.00/hr, minimum of one hour, during normal business hours: Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm or $645/hour minimum two hour during non business hours, and upon inspector availability.

    1. In the back storage area, warehouse, there are several pieces of equipment and other items being stored that are not required for the operation of the facility. [CA] The premises of a food facility shall be free of litter and items that are unnecessary to the operation or maintenance of the facility, such as equipment that is nonfunctional or no longer used. 2. In the walk way to the walk in cooler entrance and the water heater, there is a piece of drywall missing from the ceiling. Per PIC, they were fixing a leak and have yet to repair the dry wall. [CA] Repair holes in structure and maintain in good repair to prevent pest harborage.

    1. In the kitchen area, behind the prep cooler, live cockroaches of all life stages were observed. There was a large concentration of cockroaches found on the black pipe against the wall. In the drawers of a storage unit live and dead cockroaches were found. 2. In the meat department area of the facility, on the other side of the wall in the deli area, cockroaches of all life stages were found. [CA] The premises of each food facility shall be kept free of vermin. A food facility shall not operate when there is a vermin infestation that has resulted in the contamination of food contact surfaces, food packaging, utensils, food equipment, or adulteration of food(s). The food facility shall cease operation of the food facility immediately. The food facility shall remain closed until: there is no longer evidence of a vermin infestation; all contaminated surfaces have been cleaned and sanitized; and contributing factors such as cleaning, repairs, and the elimination of harborages have been resolved.
