ROUTINE INSPECTION

Note: Operator stated the facility receives weekly professional pest control on Fridays. Recommend setting more sticky traps (to aid in monitoring) and/or increasing frequency of service to better abate cockroach problem. A follow up inspection will be conducted next week to assess compliance for K23 (presence of vermin). The first follow-up is free of charge. Any additional follow-up inspection(s) shall each be billed $298/hr during business hours. Failure to comply may result in enforcement action.     1) Observed vertical gap under kitchen's screen door was greater than 1/4 inch (recent pest control reports also cited a gap under the door). [CA] Eliminate gap under door to be 1/4 inch or less. 2) Observed employee purse stored on dry storage shelf among/above foods. [CA] Store personal belongings away from foods to prevent contamination.

  • K23: No rodents, insects, birds, or animals

    Observed large dead cockroaches in the kitchen: - 1 on the floor right of the upright freezer - 2 on the floor near the kitchen back door [CA] Keep facility clear of cockroaches. A follow-up inspection will be conducted next week. See notes below. *REPEAT VIOLATION*

    A valid manager's food safety certificate was not available. [CA] Obtain a valid food safety certificate. *REPEAT VIOLATION*

    In the dry storage area: observed box of croissants was left open, and opened bags of dry foods were twisted/tied shut with no secondary containment. [CA] Keep foods protected from contamination. After opening bags of food, store them in rigid containers with tight-fitting lids.

    Measured warm water in the employee restroom's handsink to be 75F. [CA] Provide warm water at 100F but no higher than 108F.
