ROUTINE INSPECTION
Food is received prepackaged frozen or cold held from Cupertino School District Central Kitchen. Food is then reheated or cold served while remaining prepackaged. Leftover hot foods are discarded if not served during the lunch service. A shared cart is placed out during the lunch service for student to place and share unwanted food items. Open foods on shared cart including fruits with edible skin will be discarded. Non potentially hazardous prepackaged foods are returned to storage. Daily temperature logs for refrigeration units are maintained at the facility.

Numerous dead cockroaches (~30-40) observed across three glue traps in the kitchen area. No live or dead cockroaches observed elsewhere in the kitchen and did not observed any contributing factors (unclean kitchen, or opening that would allow harborage of vermin) within the kitchen. [CA] Food facility shall be maintain free of vermin and vermin debris. Facility shall not operate if there is a live infestation of vermin in the kitchen. It was noted by maintenance staff that school was recently treated for the vermin issue, but staff is unsure if there will be continued treatment. Discussed with food service manager for the district's central kitchen, Uma, to ensure proper pest control treatment is conducted and to provide pest control service report.
