Note: - The front prep area lacks a hand washing station. Future hand wash violations may result in the requirement to add an easily accessible hand wash station. The area is used to prepare coffee drinks and reheat foods in the microwave for immediate service. - Facility does not have the front retail space open and operates their catering operation only. Per PIC, they have not had the front open in over a year. A permit downgrade to FP06 and obtaining a catering permit FP18/19 may be required. In addition, the facility offers onsite consumption but does not have restrooms accessible to the public. Facility has "No Public Restroom" signs posted but has not been in continuous operation since Jan 1, 2004. If and when the facility opens ensure to provide patrons access to restroom facilities or cease onsite consumption of foods. - Restrooms are available on site however it would require patrons to go enter the back of house area near food preparation areas. Notwithstanding Section 113984.1, toilet facilities that are provided for use by consumers, guests, or invitees shall be in a location where consumers, guests, and invitees do not pass through food preparation, food storage, or utensil washing areas to reach the toilet facilities. For Reference: 113984.1. Food preparation area, consumer access consumer access to a food facility through the food preparation area is permissible, at the discretion of the permit holder, if Ready-To-Eat Foods are prepared in approved areas separated from sources of contamination by a space of at least three feet from the consumer and in areas that are separate from raw or undercooked foods. The route of access shall be separated from the required space by a rail or wall at least three feet high or otherwise clearly delineated. - Future violations in regards to restroom accessibility may result in applicable fines.

    Two hatched oothecas were observed in the mop sink. No other evidence of cockroaches observed. Facility is receiving regular pest control services. [CA] Clean and sanitize area of dead cockroaches and evidence of cockroaches.

    Ice in the ice machine was found to be in direct contact with build up along the back interior wall. [CA] Food is adulterated if it bears or contains any poisonous or deleterious substance that may render it impure or injurious to health and shall be discarded immediately. [COS] Ice was discarded.

    The restroom and hand wash station in the kitchen prep area lack soap in the wall mounted dispenser. A pump bottle of soap was available at each hand wash station. [CA] Provide handwashing cleanser in dispenser at handwash stations at all times.

    Staff were observed drying dishes with a cloth rag. [CA] Equipment and utensils must be air dried or properly stored to facilitate drying after sanitizing. [COS] Staff resanitized the dishes and placed them to air dry.

    Facility lacks a food safety certificate upon request. [CA] Food facilities that prepare, handle, or serve non-prepackaged potentially hazard foods shall have a valid Food Safety Certificate available for review at all times.

  • K22: Sewage and wastewater properly disposed

    The espresso machine in the front prep area is draining to a plastic bucket. [CA] Liquid waste shall be disposed of through the approved plumbing system and shall discharge into the public sewerage or into an approved private sewage disposal system.

Report was updated on 3/14/25 to change K23 from a minor to a major. Report emailed to facility.

    1. Several dead cockroaches were observed throughout the facility. 2. Two live cockroaches were observed, one in the electrical conduit near the oven and one in a sticky trap behind the oven. [CA] The premises of each food facility shall be kept free of vermin. A food facility shall not operate when there is a vermin infestation that has resulted in the contamination of food contact surfaces, food packaging, utensils, food equipment, or adulteration of food(s). The food facility shall cease operation of the food facility immediately. The food facility shall remain closed until: there is no longer evidence of a vermin infestation; all contaminated surfaces have been cleaned and sanitized; and contributing factors such as cleaning, repairs, and the elimination of harborages have been resolved. Facility was last serviced by pest control on 2/24/2027. [COS] Facility eliminated both live cockroaches. Service the facility and contact inspector to schedule a follow up inspection.
