ROUTINE INSPECTION

Facility's permit is currently FP76 (COMMERCIALLY PREPACKAGED FOOD <1000 SQ FT). Per PIC, facility receives pre-packaged food from School Caterers and leftover food are discarded after lunch period. However, there are days where pizza is served and utensils such as tongs and pizza cutters are occasionally used. PIC stated utensils are usually ware-washed at the breakroom/teacher's lounge where there is a 1 compartment sink. Discussed with PIC that current health permit only allows for commercially pre-packaged food. Specialist spoke with Supervising Environmental Health Specialist Monica H., and facility may be required to upgrade the current health permit category to FP21 or FP22 depending on the service the facility provides. Specialist to follow up with PIC after further research. If the facility would like to continue to serve pizza/open food, facility needs to upgrade the current health permit and submit plans to DEH Plan Check for a kitchen remodel. Discussed with PIC that the facility shall cease open food distribution such as pizza until correct health permit is obtained.
