FOLLOW-UP INSPECTION

Reinspection due to the rodent droppings observed during 10-11-24 inspection. No evidence of rodents were observed during todays inspection. Continue to more thoroughly clean the floors especially under/behind equipment. Remove the boxes from under the desk and keep the facility clutter free, clean and sanitized. According to the manager the pest control company was in the store again yesterday for service.

FOLLOW-UP INSPECTION

Follow up inspection conducted for complaint investigation on 10/11/24 that resulted in closure due to rodent infestation (K23). Observations: *Pest services conducted yesterday for treatment and prevention measures. *Operator removed straw bin from facilities. *All areas noted on previous report with rodent evidence have been cleaned and sanitizer in front prep area and back area. *Observed rodent traps and sticky traps in place throughout facility. *Per PIC, field mouse was caught and removed from facilities. *No evidence of rodent infestation present at time of inspection, violation corrected. Facility is okay to re-open, red placard removed and green placard issued. Continue with pest services to prevent vermin entry and sealing all holes, gaps and crevices. Facility was invoiced for after-hour inspection. Report emailed to mimarque@starbucks.com

ROUTINE INSPECTION

Complainant stated: ON-GOING RODENT ISSUE. MOUSE IN THE STORE LAST WEEK. MOUSE AGAIN TODAY. Store must close due to rodent issue. Visited store due to complaint regarding an ongoing rodent issue. Rodent droppings were observed in a drawer where the straws are stored and according to the lead they were all discarded. The drawers must be cleaned out and sanitized. There are also remnants of garbage where the mouse was nesting in the area near where the sugar is stored. Clean and sanitize the cabinets. A dropping was observed on the floor in the back storage area next to refrigerators. Very difficult to tell which are droppings due to the floor being unclean. Sweep and mop the floor. According to the manager they will mop with sanitizer and sanitize all countertops. A dropping was observed on the shelf next to the single coffee packet boxes. The shelves are being sanitized. If any items appear to have contamination of rodents they must be discarded. Continue with the pest control service and continue to clean and sanitize the store. According to the employee the mouse was caught and taken outside. Once all has been done and no evidence of any rodent issue exists then please call this department to schedule a reinspection before opening. Permission must be given by this department to reopen. Reinspection fees for after hours requests will apply.

    Observed the janitors sink to be soiled and/or stained. [CA] Thoroughly clean the janitors sink.

    Observed a pet dog in the facility.[CA] Pet dogs are not allowed in the facility. Spoke with manager about not allowing pets. The manager asked the customer if it was a pet and the customer left. The dining room does have a lot of dog hair on the floor. Please mop the floors so that the dog hair does not blow into the food and drinks being served.

    The display unit that has the yogurt, sandwiches, cheese and boiled egg trays is holding food 41 to 50 degrees F. [CA] Food must be held at 41 degrees F maximum in this unit. The manager threw away all food items that were probed 42 F and above. There were 25 sandwiches and 4 yogurts and 17 protein boxes.
